While I agree that in this day and age of information, people can and should be far more aware of their privilege. Some privilege is much harder to see. I'd like to share an example. This is something I've actively called attention to in teaching my kids because I know how easily it can be overlooked. We are a lower middle class family. Not enough money for me to pay for college, if my kids want to go, they know they'll need to pay for. So they don't experience the wealthy white privilege that is easy to see. And so it is also easy for them to think they aren't privileged. But my mother was taught smart financial skills as she entered adulthood which helped her make good decisions and avoid common pitfalls. She taught me and I've taught my kids. Because of this my son, at 19 bought his first house and at 25 owns a successful business. He worked hard for those things, but the privilege of education handed down through generations.
